Church Covenant
Having, as we trust, been brought by God’s grace to repent and believe in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to give ourselves to Him, and having been baptized upon our profession of faith, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, relying on His gracious strength and guidance, faithfully and joyfully covenant with one another.
We will follow Scripture alone in all areas of faith, life, and ministry, and align ourselves with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
We will strive with the help of the Holy Spirit to walk together in unity and peace, forgiving one another following moments of failure.
We will aim to live holy and godly lives, above reproach, growing toward spiritual maturity, as is expected from those who have received new life in Christ, removing ourselves from ungodly practices, influences, and associations.
We will walk together in Christian love, supporting one another in all things that are biblical and righteous, and holding one another accountable in all things that are unbiblical and sinful.
We will set an example of Christian living for others, especially the children in our care, making every effort not to lead another person into temptation and sin.
We will rejoice and celebrate with one another in moments of success and blessing, and support and pray for one another in moments of difficulty and grief.
We will make our best effort to join with one another for worship and fellowship, not neglecting to meet together on a regular basis.
We will work together to fulfill the ministries of our church using the spiritual gifts and sanctified skills that God has given each of us in measure by grace, serving with excellence.
We will contribute financially to the ministries and mission of the church, supporting the advancement of the gospel locally and globally, giving generously with a spirit of cheerfulness, worship, and sacrifice.
We will support our pastors and leaders, praying for them and encouraging them as they lead us in the direction of God’s will as revealed in Scripture.
We will, when we move from this place, as soon as possible, unite with another church that follows the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's Word.
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Amen.
