Isaiah 40:12

Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand
and marked off the heavens with a span,
enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure
and weighed the mountains in scales
and the hills in a balance?

When we consider what it means to worship, we first look to the object of our worship.  Is He worthy of our worship?  The question is, of course, rhetorical.  But it is an opportunity for us to consider what makes Him so worthy.  He is worthy because He is the Creator.  As a cook measures and holds a cup of water for a recipe, so He has measured out the very the vastness of the oceans in the mere “hollow of His hand,”  As one of our songs adds, His worth is both as Creator and Savior.  His hands, in addition to holding the oceans, held the nails that bore “all the sin of sinful man.”  Our God is immeasurable in size, power, and love!
