Worship Notes
There’s an account I follow on X (formerly Twitter) who posts daily, but, any time he doesn’t have something new to say, he simply writes, “Jesus is alive and that changes everything!” The gospel is that radical – it changes everything. Jesus came during a long period of desperate waiting, to fulfill the law and prophets, to reveal the coming Kingdom of God, and to reconcile and redeem the lost. He did it at enormous cost to Himself, suffering on the cross, offering Himself as our salvation, and He did to pay the penalty that we owed.
And that would be more than enough! But it didn’t stop there. He was raised from the dead, defeating death. He is the bridegroom and the foundation of the church. He is our victory and our reason for living. He gives us power and courage to share the good news of the Gospel, and for that, we praise God -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
And the church of Christ was born, then the Spirit lit the flame
Now this gospel truth of old, shall not kneel, shall not faint
By His blood and in His name, in His freedom I am free
For the love of Jesus Christ, who has resurrected me
Praise the Father, praise the Son, praise the Spirit, three in one
God of glory, Majesty, praise forever to the King of Kings
We are not afraid to live this life of obedience, humility, and service to our King! We are free because of the love of Jesus Christ and His resurrection. In the words of the song, quoting Galatians 6:9, we will not grow weary, and we will not faint. Let us stand and sing boldly. May our Gospel witness always be faithful. Let us serve Him willingly all of our days.
Chris
