Worship Notes
Few things capture joy like the sight and sound of children singing! If they love a song, they get into it. They smile. They move to the music. They alternate between singing and screaming. They go all in expressing the joy that they feel. This Sunday, our children’s choir will join us in leading worship, including singing “I’m So Blessed” by Cain. No complex words, just the simple message that, regardless of our circumstances, I’m a child of God and I am blessed.
Ephesians 1:3-8 puts it this way: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight.
What blessings we have! In the midst of the worst possible day, I’m a child of God, redeemed by His blood. On the best day of my life, I can rejoice that, in addition to my temporal blessings, I have forgiveness and grace lavished upon me.
Trouble knocking at my door today, I ain't gonna let it in
And worry wanna steal my joy away, but I ain't gonna let it win
'Cause on my best day, I'm a child of God, On my worst day, I'm a child of God
Oh, every day is a good day, and You're the reason why
He’s the reason why we have real joy, real forgiveness, real goodness, real relationship with Him. I’m so blessed.
