WORSHIP

WHAT TYPE OF WORSHIP DO YOU HAVE?

When churches talk about worship, all too often the discussion involves words like musical style, contemporary, traditional, and blended.

When we talk about worship, we prefer to talk using words like genuine, authentic, lifestyle, and multigenerational. Worship is so much more than music — it is a lifestyle of service to God that involves genuine love for our Savior and an authentic response to the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT ON A SUNDAY MORNING?

So when you come to worship on a Sunday, you will likely hear music of all different types. There may be a children’s choir that sings or a handbell choir that plays. Most weeks there’s a rhythm section with piano, guitar, drums, and organ. During the school year, the orchestra plays most Sundays. People of all different likes and different ages worship together.

And when we leave our corporate worship services, we encourage one another to worship throughout the week in faithful service to the Lord and to tell the story of God’s great love for us.

SANCTUARY CHOIR

The Sanctuary Choir leads in worship on a weekly basis. Groups of singers, what we would now call a choir, have a long history throughout the Bible as worship leaders. The Santuary Choir is not a performance group but rather a group dedicated to supporting the work of the church in worship.

We rehearse and prepare for that task each Wednesday night by practicing all of the congregational music that everyone sings as well as rehearsing featured music that only the choir will sing.
